One of the most frequent questions men ask me about in general health checks is – Doc ! – Do you you think my testosterone levels are OK ?
What is it ? Testosterone is a hormone produced by the testicles and is responsible for the proper development of male sexual characteristics. Testosterone is also important for maintaining muscle bulk, adequate levels of red blood cells, bone density, sense of well-being, and sexual and reproductive function.
Research results vary, but probably nearly half of men over the age of 50 have reduced testosterone levels that can give symptoms.
- decreased sex drive
- decreased sense of well-being
- depressed mood
- difficulties with concentration and memory
- erectile dysfunction
So what can men do to answer their questions ? - Well the answer will be in my next posts, so become a follower and register your email, and you won’t miss out on this important information from the health doctor.
